I personally enjoy working with difficult people, and an environment where I can physically observe and speak to customers from all walks of life.

A typical day can be stressful depending on your mindset getting in and is definitely not for everyone. You'll get insults, rude customers, and people who are there to just down right make your job harder. 

But at the same time it's an excellent learning experience on a customer service level. You'll learn how to behave and speak like a member of a larger scale company, how to respond to difficult instances and most importantly, how to work together as a team. You'll also quickly pick up on human behavior, things to look out for, and basic radio calls. The amount of knowledge is simply the amount you're willing to put into learning how things operate.

The only downside I'd say is the inconsistency of communication about rules and regulations from managers to supervisors. There's many gray areas that are completely up in the air depending on who you speak with. 

There's also the problem with some co-workers who do not care for their position and simply want their pay. These are the worst to deal with because in a team based environment, just means other people have to carry more weight than they need.

As I mentioned before, this job isn't for everyone. You have to enjoy dealing with difficult people, you must have a drive to resolve difficult situations and people throwing anger fits. You have to be able to stand for long periods of time and you must be confident enough to communicate with the customers in a professional manner at all times. You also have to understand you'll get hate from the customers for simply doing your job, guareented. If you fail at even one of these, you're going to have a bad time.

Once you get your licence to deal the game that your licence is for it's pretty straight forward.  The number of hours that you get will depend on how well you can deal and supervise as they want their best dealers on the floor as much as possible.  Dealing roulette and working as a team environment is quite enjoyable and there are plenty of guests that are sociable and approachable.  Unfortunately good guests also come with bad guests but there are plenty of security around to deal with these guests.  Most dealers are in post secondary and very friendly.  A single shift consists of 40 mins on and 20 mins off on break each hour.  In a 8 hour shift you will have been assigned to 8 different tables.  All breaks are paid but for security reasons they won't let staff leave the casino on breaks.  The break room is okay at best, but if you stay sociable time will go by quickly.

Worked as a CNE casino security for 3 summers straight. During work you'll be assigned a different position, it can vary from standing at each exit just watching customers or patrolling the poker room or main floor. Our main duty was to make customers aware that they're not allowed to use phones at the game tables. It was a tedious job, but had decent pay and long hours + overtime. CNE casino opens in May and ends in September. 

During the time I worked at the casino, I chose overnight shifts which started at 8pm- 7am. Usually it's more eventful during the nights compared to day shifts where nothing happens.

I'd recommend this job for anyone looking for a part time job in the summer. It pays more than regular CNE workers with OT, getting to relax in a building with A/C and cold water.

Working for the CNE casino was amazing. All the other employees were friendly and helpful. The procedures/protocols were very well established and management made me feel comfortable for me to ask any questions at anytime. While working for the casino I learned many things about gambling laws and ways to prevent/report criminal activity. My favorite part of the job was meeting with new people from all over the world,learning new things about different countries and cultures.

They are always understaffed there and will hire pretty much anyone who walks in the door. Management always "encourages" you to work more hours, usually up to the legal limit of 70 hours per week. Most of my co-workers there were great people (made alot of friends there that I'm still in contact with) but some of the management was absolutely horrible. Some pit managers like to haze new employees which is absolutely awful. Dont expect to move up unless you spend over a decade there and/or have connections.

-management is very friendly and helping to everyone alike
-good hours and a competitive 23/hr pay 
-mostly sit/walk around for the majority of the shift so its a very easy way to make money during the summer 
-if management sees that you are capable and responsible will likely lead to a promotion the following season

Tips are pooled and paid at the end of the CNE; not to mention it's minimum wage. Often patrons are unnecessarily rude and make the job stressful especially when they are constantly hurrying you to be faster yet any mistake you make causes them to release their unheld fury towards you.Thee management and coworkers are great which make the job bearable. 

- Work culture is pretty good.
- There are always opportunities for extra shifts especially in the middle of the season.
- The work is pretty standard security, on your feet for most of the shift.
- Great opportunity to network with collegaues and pay-duty police officers.
- Ability to move up the ladder if you are a returnee

 I loved casino dealer and supervising job. This involves mind engagement throughout the work day which made this job easy for me because I  did not realize how time had flown. Therefore, its very engaging and easy going. I would love to work next next year as well. Thank you.
